Mid-America Christian University has named Dr. Cliff Sanders, ministry professor of more than 29 years, as professor emeritus.
MACU Board of Trustees member Stuart Graham presented Sanders with the title and medal April 28 during his retirement reception.
“We will attempt to build the faith of students with the passion and giftedness of Cliff Sanders,” Graham said. “We want to keep alive Cliff’s passion for influencing young people as they leave this place as better people and lifelong servants of God. Like Cliff Sanders, we will seek the best for our students. We honor Cliff today as he moves to other professional pursuits, but at the same time, we admit the desire to keep Cliff Sanders here with us as professor emeritus of MACU.”
After nearly three decades with the university, Sanders retired from MACU at the end of the spring semester to accept a new position at Crossings Community Church in Oklahoma City. There, he will lead the School for Wesleyan Studies and help train church leaders, develop curriculum and publish books.
