Mid-America Christian University (MACU) is delighted to announce the completion of our new Prayer Labyrinth—a sacred space designed to foster reflection, prayer, and spiritual growth within our campus community.
A Collective Effort Rooted in Faith
The creation of the Prayer Labyrinth was a heartfelt endeavor that united over 100 students, faculty, and staff. Before construction began, the community gathered to dedicate the space, seeking blessings for its role as a haven for contemplation and connection with God on campus. In a deeply personal touch, each participant inscribed prayers, scriptures, and words of encouragement onto the first stones they laid, embedding their spiritual intentions into the very foundation of the labyrinth.

A Unique Addition to Oklahoma City’s Spiritual Landscape
Prayer labyrinths serve as tools for meditation and have been integral to Christian spirituality for centuries. In Oklahoma City, such sacred spaces are rare. Notably, Mercy Hospital offers an 11-circuit Chartres-style labyrinth made from red sandstone and white limestone tiles, located just east of its main entrance. Additionally, the United Life Church features a painted Chartres-style labyrinth in the southeast corner of their parking lot. MACU’s new Prayer Labyrinth enriches this limited landscape, providing a dedicated space for our community in South Oklahoma City to engage in prayerful reflection.

An Invitation to Experience the Labyrinth
We warmly invite all members of the MACU family—students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends—to walk the Prayer Labyrinth. Whether seeking guidance, offering gratitude, or simply desiring a moment of peace, this sacred path is here to support your spiritual journey.
The Prayer Labyrinth stands as a testament to the power of collective faith and the University’s commitment to nurturing the spiritual well-being of our community. We encourage you to take time to experience this meaningful addition to our campus.
