MACU Celebrates Impactful Leaders at 2024 iMpact Awards Gala

Mid-America Christian University (MACU) hosted its annual iMpact Awards Gala on October 8, recognizing distinguished alumni and community leaders for their extraordinary contributions in education, community service and leadership. The event brought together alumni, students, faculty and community members for a night of celebration and reflection on the power of positive impact.

The 2024 honorees represent a diverse group of leaders who have made significant contributions to their professions and communities, embodying the core values of MACU.

Young Alumni Award – Jason Robinson (’14)

Jason Robinson, a financial advisor with Edward Jones, received the Young Alumni Award, which honors an alumnus from the past 15 years who has demonstrated remarkable career achievement and community service. Robinson’s leadership in financial planning has empowered many individuals and families to achieve financial stability, reflecting MACU’s mission of service through excellence in one’s profession.

Heart of an Evangel Award – Marvin and Janice Middlebrooks (’83)

The Heart of an Evangel Award was presented to Marvin and Janice Middlebrooks for their unwavering dedication to the mission of MACU and their lifelong commitment to living out their faith. Marvin and Janice’s work as church leaders and their roles in serving students, staff, and faculty at MACU have made a lasting impact on their local community and beyond.

Educator Award – Brian Raymond (’02)

Brian Raymond, a second-grade teacher at Fisher Elementary School in the Moore Public Schools District, was honored with the Educator Award. Raymond has devoted his career to investing in the next generation, showing care and commitment to his students in the classroom, inspiring them to grow both academically and personally.

Lifetime Achievement Award – Jeannette Flynn (’77)

Jeannette Flynn was recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award for her exceptional service to MACU and the broader Christian community. A mentor to
many, Flynn has dedicated her life to fostering leadership within the church. Her enduring legacy continues to shape future generations of MACU students and
alumni.

Community iMpact Award – Water4

Water4, a non-profit organization that focuses on providing sustainable water solutions in Africa, received the Community iMpact Award. Water4’s innovative approach to solving the global water crisis aligns with MACU’s mission of solving local and global issues in society.

Evangel iMpact Award – Charity Hill

Charity Hill, a current student at MACU, was awarded the Evangel iMpact Award for her outstanding academic achievements and spiritual leadership on campus. Hill’s
dedication to her studies and her passion to serve others have made her a role model for her peers, illustrating the transformational impact of faith in action.

The iMpact Awards Gala is an annual celebration of the remarkable individuals who represent MACU’s commitment to service, leadership, and faith. This year’s honorees are a testament to the university’s mission of empowering students and alumni to make a meaningful difference in the world.
