Mid-America Christian University’s Biology Program (B.S.) offers a comprehensive education that begins with strong foundational coursework in biology, chemistry, and mathematics leading to specialized areas of study. The faculty and staff are committed to quality instruction and continual improvement in their academic fields to ensure student success. MACU’s biology and University core curriculum equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary for diverse careers in science and healthcare. The biology program has much success in assisting students entering medical and other health science related graduate schools. Professional graduate schools that our alumni have attended include Oklahoma State University College for Health Sciences, The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine, Hardin-Simmons University, and
other universities located throughout the United States and the world.
Program Options
- The Bachelor of Science in Biology is offered in a traditional 16 – week format.
- MACU was the first private Christian university in Oklahoma to hold a 3+1 articulation agreement and a guaranteed interview to the medical school program at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences. The 3+1 agreement provides the opportunity for MACU students to navigate academics from freshman to physician in just 7 years.
MACU students have also participated in MACU undergraduate research projects, journal club, federal grants in STEM, summer research programs at The University of Arkansas, The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, and a virology certificate program at The University of California-Merced.
