Marvin Akers is the Program Director for Criminal Justice and Ethics and an assistant professor. With 34 years of experience in law enforcement, Marvin has worked extensively across the globe, including a seven-year tenure in Italy. His career includes roles as a patrolperson, shift commander, chief of police, Federal Agent, State Agent, Assistant Special Agent in Charge, and Senior Agent. Marvin’s expertise spans investigations, evidence collection, testimony in court, and management of personnel and resources.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, a Master of Arts in Leadership/Public Administration, and has completed all coursework for a Doctorate in Organizational Management. Currently, Marvin is pursuing a Master of Counseling degree with aspirations of becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Marvin and his wife have been happily married for 34 years and have three adult children and three grandchildren.
