Mid-America Christian University will hold its fourth annual Dream Scholarship Gala at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at the newly renovated Sheraton Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City.
The event benefits MACU’s Evangel Fund, providing necessary dollars for student scholarships.
As the university celebrates its sixty-fifth anniversary, the special evening will focus on MACU’s impact on the lives of countless students through more than six decades of operation in Texas and Oklahoma.
Three MACU alumni will speak at this year’s Dream Scholarship Gala, including two former students who attended the school when it was Gulf Coast Bible College in Houston and Mid-America Bible College in Oklahoma City. A recent graduate will also provide a personal testimony.
Another MACU graduate, Rev. Mike Keahbone, will serve as the master of ceremonies for the evening. Keahbone, a first generation college graduate who earned his degree from MACU last year, is the senior pastor at Cherokee Hills Baptist Church in northwest Oklahoma City.
Music for the evening will be provided by Rev. Todd Braschler, a MACU Board of Trustees member and concert artist from Branson, Mo.
Many of the university’s students, alumni, staff, faculty and supporters will also be in attendance.
“The generosity of our donors, alumni and friends ensures that MACU students are not held back by financial constraints when pursuing an education,” said Rev. Steve Seaton, Vice President for University Advancement. “Scholarships help our students remain inspired to not only follow their personal dreams, but the vision God has for their lives.”
Tickets for the Dream Scholarship Gala are on sale now and available for purchase online at dreamgala.macu.edu for $150 per ticket. A limited number of sponsorship opportunities for individuals and businesses are also available.
One hundred percent of funds raised will go toward MACU’s Evangel Fund, the university’s annual fund for student scholarships.
